An equivalent model of a nonlinear bolted flange joint

The dynamic response of individual components in an assembled structure shows high accuracy compared to experimental measurements the system response. However, when it comes assemblies, conventional linear approaches fail deliver good accuracy, due uncertain and nonlinear mechanisms contact interface joints. Therefore, inherent dynamics interfaces needs be considered modeling structures. In this paper prediction a bolted flange joint was obtained two ways. First, 3D detailed finite element model capable representing micro-slip mechanism made using quasi-static time stepping analysis. characteristics developing are investigated by model. Moreover, natural frequencies (representing response) behavior terms hysteresis loops Second, equivalent composed beam elements appropriate is then constructed for structure. An identification approach proposed, parameters identified both characteristics, i.e. loops. Comparing from models verifies used represent proposed parameter quantification.
